ARTIST'S STATEMENT:
I enjoy equally "plein air" painting and "studio" painting. I paint to celebrate life. It's the fulfillment of my day. I'm uplifted and that makes me happy. I've spent a lifetime observing nature and the way light and atmosphere affect the landscape and objects. I work to translate my love of nature to each viewer, transforming their perception and evoke wonder. I want the viewer to see and feel the emotion that went into every stroke. Something that can be felt and seen in the texture of the carved paint made by the stiff bristle brushes and knives that I use to create them. They are as much a part of the composition and colors that I choose.

BIO:
I currently live in Gahanna a suburb of Columbus, Ohio. I have lived in the Columbus area since 1978. I am originally from a small town 35 miles south of Pittsburgh.
I have been painting with focus since 1992. From an early age I have had a love of expressing himself through art. Even in the U.S. Air Force, I had an outlet for my creative side, working several years as a graphic artist. Afterwards, I enrolled at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh where I received my degree in visual communications. During the succeeding years I pursued my career in advertising. I continued developing my appreciation of fine art through reading and traveling to local and national exhibits. After vacationing in Northern New Mexico, Southern France, Paris and Monet's Giverny, I was inspired to put my brush to paint. I have developed an impressionist expressive style. My paintings have a luminous quality created from initial glazed layers that he allows to show through along broken strokes of impasto. Often choosing landscapes, I create harmony with colors inspired by nature's hues.
